Job Title: Painter
Location: Purley
Our client is seeking a Painter to under all aspects of painting repair throughout the college premises, internally and externally, including void and tenanted properties. This includes carrying out tasks such as:
· ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards and in compliance with relevant regulations/health and safety guidelines.
· carrying out inspections and to communicate effectively with colleagues to understand painting repair requirements.
· calculating the amount of time and materials required to carry out the work.
· assisting with the repair and painting/staining of fences on the estate.
· work closely with conservation officers and other specialists to ensure all work meets regulatory standards and contributes positively to the building’s preservation.
Other duties include assisting with:
· general maintenance tasks – basic plumbing, clearing drains, gutters etc.,
· maintenance of garden furniture, structures, fencing, decking etc.,
· helping with the general estate – including gardening and grounds works,
· assembling furniture or equipment,
· office moves,
· set up/set down of lecture rooms for conference events,
· moving furniture across the site,
· ripping out labouring.
The person must demonstrate:
· excellent skills and experience in all aspects of painting and decorating, (NVQ L2 qualification in Painting and Decorating and/or be qualified by experience),
· Proven experience as a painter with a strong portfolio, including work on historical or listed buildings, or the willingness to learn,
· relevant experience/training in DIY and trade skills,
· ability to perform physical maintenance tasks, carry heavy loads, work from ladders/towers, and perform these tasks in accordance with the policies, procedures, and requirements including Health and Safety
· a neat and tidy approach to working,
· ability to work to a high standard,
· ability to work on own and as part of a team,
· wiliness to wear PPE at all relevant times,
· basic computer literacy,
· willingness to learn,
· flexibility.
Job Type: Contract
Salary: £23 per hour
